My MAC address and IP have been changed...How is this possible??

Ok so my Forza 4 game started bugging out one day. Months go by and now it’s really buggin out. I check my router info and it says my XBOX ONE S. Was disconnected and a XBOXONE was connected on October 26, 2020. <=. Around the time I noticed the menu and stuff looked a little off. And on the router info it shows two Xbox’s. With different Mac address and IPs . Did someone steal my Xbox and leave an older version with a cloned HD ???? What can be the answer to my gaming issue??? Also my TV all of a sudden has WiFi connected to a hidden network name. Can I get some help please...

Concerning the Forza Horizon situation, that's actually related to the service outage announced by the developer of the game on their Twitter page. For any updates concerning this, keep an eye on their Twitter page!

As for the Mac address and IP situation, we would highly recommend checking your case further with your internet service provider for further assistance.

Quick Question. Are you using the same MAC address? If so, your wireless MAC address is different than your wired MAC address. Look it up and change it in your Netgear router. If you want the same IP address you were using, you will need to change the
MAC address for that IP (Routers won't allow you to associate 1 IP address with 2 MAC addresses).

By the looks of things they are just changing the consoles ip address not the mac , u can change the mac address but its more easy for them to change the console ip to get around the ristrictions u have, u should A: Change ur router admin pw and that would
simply resolve all the issues or manualy allocate ip for all devices and only have the ip address fixed to them , hope it work GL!

Did you change the MAC address on the router for the static IP address. If it still has the MAC address for the old console then it won't work for the new one. You will need to set the new console's MAC address up in the router on that IP address.

Im not sure what changes they are making, but i can tell you for sure that changing an IP address does not change the MAC address.

If they changed the IP, it would still need to be an IP thats valid in that specific address pool / subnet in order for it to work on the network and even still, it would be bound to the same MAC address

So the solution would still be to simply police the Xbox wireless / wired MAC address in your router settings. Depending on the make / model, these features can vary, but you would be looking for something like MAC address filtering or Access control
