    My Live account seems to have associated with the wrong gamertag.


    I'll try to be a simple as possible. At home on my xbox one, I am signed into the correct account and it lists my proper gamertag. When I try to sign into anywhere else (like this very website or the destiny companion app) I use the same windows live ID
    and it logs in as , which obviously isn't correct. None of my account data can be pulled down as a result and I am at a loss as to why. Is there some way I can get this disassociation taken care of and learn what caused it so that I can prevent
    it from happening again?

    Gamertag Association to Microsoft Account

    The gamertag that is associated with my microsoft account is wrong and i cant seem to change it. On xbox live my gamertag is correct but the email is wrong. how do I get microsoft mt correct information? Should I re-sign up for an xbox live account on

    Followed steps to associate a different windows live account to my current xbox account.

    I tried to change the windows live associated with my Xbox Live account. However, when I try, it says that my windows live account is already associated to another account. The account that my windows live is associated to is a gamertag that I could not
    use. I can't get the gamertag off of my widows live account. Please help.

    Transfer saves to different account

    Each 360 account can be associated with a Live account.

    Currently I have:

    old 360 account -> associated with my Live account but with the old gamertag

    new 360 account -> associated with my Live account but with the new gamertag

    The new account got created when I downloaded my profile using my microsoft sign in. The old account was associated with the same microsoft sign in but it didn't recognize my gamertag change. Now it won't let me sign in to live because it asks for my microsoft
    sign in details. I'm guessing the sign in fails because it's trying to find the microsoft account associated with the old gamertag.

    I either need to somehow transfer my saves over to the new 360 account so I can upload them to the cloud, or I need someway for my Xbox to realize that my gamertag changed on the old account so I can sign into live again with that account.

    The same thing happened to me SIlkcobra with Metro 2033. It seems that the microsoft billing account is not directly associated to the xbox live account in a way that although you can make a transaccion, but if it goes wrong like it happened to us, then
    Customer Support is not able to see your xbox live gamertag with the MS Billing services. And it should be their responsability to refund you. I went through and opened a dispute thru paypal, that was my payment option.

    Your Email account is linked to your Gamertag (Xbox live account) that of which you may be using the wrong email or the account associated with the email may have changed. I would contact the xbox support team via Phone and tell them your real Gamertag and
    see which email account it is linked to.

    Just figured it out. Create a decoy windowsID and transfer the unused gt to it. Then the email you want to use for your real gt will be open. You can later delete the decoy account. I have to wait 30 days i believe because i just downloaded the gt to my
    console for the first time, and i believe the unknown transfer may have caused a 30 day wait as well. Either way I will find out eventually.
