Epic Games Inc. nor Microsoft can restore your lost data. Your data has been lost because it has, somehow, corrupted.

The only choice you have now is to file a complaint against EGI through the BBB for not officially employing a method that attempts to retrieve hard-earned player data in the case of accidental data corruption. I did this, and I haven't received a response
from the company in over two weeks. This silence is not only indicative of cowardice but also of fault. I wish there was another, more effective, way to complain. Unfortunately, there is not. The BBB is all there is.

This issue has been part of a four year cover up. Epic and Microsoft both know about it, but this is not Microsoft's problem. This is the developer's responsibility. Epic wants gamers to continue to purchase its games and its DLC, but it does not want you
to know about potential data corruption that can affect every player, at any time. In other words, the company just wants your money.

Sure, data corruption can happen with every game and computer. There is no doubt about that. However, Epic Games has not officially implemented a method that can be used to salvage player data that may have been corrupted. You may hear fellow players mention
a "back-up" method. However, that method is not endorsed by Epic Games. If it was endorsed, ALL players would be warned about data corruption with an in-game message letting them how to "back-up" their data. You'd have to ask the company why it won't endorse
a process that could end up sparing tens of thousands of players. I guess tens of thousands of players do not matter because they are in the minority.

As Microsoft explains, you're going to have to re-earn your progress, should you decide to play the game again. Good luck with whatever decision with which you decide to proceed. Just remember, you are not at fault. It is entirely Epic's fault. You cannot
expect customers to avoid problems with a product when the developing company does nothing to raise awareness about how said problem could be avoided. To think the opposite epitomizes ignorance and stupidity.

I really hope that the Gears franchise ends with Judgment. I pray that a next-gen Gears doesn't come to fruition because it would only end up suffering from the same issue that has been present since 2008. Phenomenal and innovative developers do not repeat
the same mistakes.

Yup game progress like that is stored on the developer's servers so you would need to contact them, not Xbox.

The levels don't necessarily mean anything, they're just a general measure of how much you use the forums and how helpful you are. In honesty, I'm fairly surprised they haven't abandoned it completely considering how much we're encouraged to ignore it and
everyone is equal.

 

If the level thing is a glitch, as much as it doesn't matter, I'll be sad when it goes back down. lol

There isn't a meaning for each level. The you post and the more helpful your posts are the higher your level goes... and as the link states as punishment you can be demoted to level 0.

There was one CUL 9 in the history of xbox.com and that was given to Trixie by Trixie.

Now everyone is a CUL 9. Kind of takes away the specialty of obtaining it now, lol.

They're likely still working on them behind the scenes. I would expect some disturbance over the next few days at least.
