My Kinect

Now when i was setting up my kinect on top of my TV i accidently dropped it .. It has a little tiny dent on the top but the fall wasn't big.

Anyways im not sure if it was the fall or if its normally like this but it doesn't always hear me say "xbox" i have to say "xbox on" a few times before it hears me .. There are sometimes where it hears me the first time..

does your kinect hear you every single time? Is there anyway to check if mine is damaged? Do they sell kinect seperatelty? I love the kinect i honestly dont understand why someone wouldnt want this piece of tech its amazing. I don't think i'll he able to
own a console that doesn't support this ft In the future.

I recently switched to the always off mode so it doesn't wake for Xbox On.

However before I switched to this "Xbox On" only worked about a third of the time and even then required me to speak louder than I needed. Where as the other commands work around 90% of the time with normal speaking volume. Background noise does decrease
the odds slightly.

 

The Xbox on command does seem stubborn. Its almost like sometimes is in a deep sleep and you have to say Xbox on a couple times lol. But like you said sometimes works on the first try.

 

Ok thanks it sounds like my kinect is fine because all the other commands work 90% of the time its only when i call put my xbox or try to turn it on that it picks it up 1/4 of the time

 

Mine works 95% of the time. Try calibrating it in the settings and see if that helps.

 

90% -95% same thing lol. Im sure mine is fine after hearing other posters

 

I speak so rarely that it has to hear my voice a few times (Like 30 seconds of just yelling different commands to get used to me) just to differentiate me from background sounds. After which it works perfectly.

 

XBox on is buggy and takes precise skill for it to work.. all others.. maybe 9.9/10 thy work.. not counting errors on my part by using the wrong command...I always forget to say Xbox on some command strings...
