    Kinect Lights

    My XB1 was DOA and I have already put in the advance exchange. I noticed that my Kinect has 3 red lights that won't turn off (they are horizontal in the center of the kinect). On the Xbox online support center page it says that a red light on the kinect
    is an issue. I also saw on the forums that those 3 lights might be the "infrared lights". Is the right light that the XOLSC page talks about the 3 red lights or is it talking about the light behind xbox logo on the front of the Kinect?

    Controller disconnection issues (my case)

    Something strange I've noticed today - those red flashing lights which are placed in front of the controller (where the micro usb connector is placed) - with my previous consoles those lights was flashing always when the controller was not pointed directly
    into Kinect.

    With this one I have now those light almost never flashes.

    How these lights should behave?

    If this is a constant red light this usually means a Hardware fault with the Kinect, have you checked there are no kinks in the cable and that its fine.

    Next step would be to confirm if the issue happens on another XBOX, if it does it means your Kinect may be faulty.

    Hello there ManiacalEwe, Try the steps listed here to troubleshoot your issue:

    support.xbox.com/.../red-light-kinect-sensor-5     contrary to what was Recommended above, don't follow through with having it replaced just yet.

    I think those red flashing lights are so that the Kinect can identify the controllers.

    In dead rising you have to sort of shake the controller when cought by zombies i'm assuming the Kinect sees you shake the controller and the red lights help the Kinect see the controller

    Watch for the red line on the little window that has your image in it. If you see a red line you need to move forward or back. It will get funny and lose you or not count your exercise if the red line is there too long. My Kinect is on top of a 60" Led,
    I had to angle my Kinect down to capture some of the closer stuff. I do the mossa routines a lot...I found those steps they use at my local big5; they really help for some of the floor weight routines. biggest thing for me was to adjust the Kinect down
    to capture my play space. Tracking and light has not been an issue for me.
