My Kinect Died...

good thing titanfall has no kinect features

 

My Kinect was working fine when I left for work, I came and noticed that the X was not glowing. Not sure why. I have embraced the Kinect from the get go. It is one heck of a web cam!

 

I was a kinect skeptic, yet i now enjoy the use of kinect more than ever!

 

I'll bet you're glad you don't have to have the Kinect plugged in anymore or else you'd have a brick sitting in your house.

 

yea I had mine die a month ago. Now my disk drive is dying. :<

 

Well, after about 30 or so minutes on chat and a call-back from MS support, I have an advanced exchange Kinect replacement being sent out to me...should be here in a few days. I have to say, they gave me no grief, and were very forthcoming about everything,
even discussing the Live issues following Titanfall's release.

I'll post up again when I get the replacement to let everyone know if the issue is rectified. Until then, happy Titanfalling (for those who can get in)!

 

^ LOL..... get in line..... I had my order placed Feb 24..... here I sit. I was told that a shipment of 200 came in on March 7th, and were all spoken for. A big shipment coming this Friday.... don't hold your breath....

Mine died today as well. What a bummer. I didn't event bother calling support, just put in for repairs online. Received a fedex # to drop off at one of their locations tomorrow to ship it back. Has anyone heard if they have figured out the cause? Mine was
on and just shut off while playing titanfall.

 

Destruction, I'm with ya...mine just shut off while playing Forza. As far as cause, I heard it might actually be the cord and not the unit itself...

 

Got home..... new Kinect waiting! Plugged in, waited for about a minute, the X lite up.... calibrated.... good! My X1 is complete now..... I missed the pale glow of the Kinect X ... happy day in this guys house!!!!

Microsoft says the replacement Kinect has shipped (as of yesterday), but the tracking number comes up as "Not found" on the FedEx site. Guess I'll give it a bit longer before I become concerned...after all, it took forever for the Day One tracking info
to work. :|

 

IT'S ALIVE!!!!! Just got the replacement in, hooked it up, and I'm good to go. It scared me a bit though...didn't come on immediately. I guess it must've had to initialize and sync with the system. It was such a relief to see that white X light up!
