My Kinect Died...

Well, I've unfortunately joined the ranks of those with hardware failures. My kinect died yesterday and will not turn back on. I've unplugged everything and replugged everything. I'm just hoping it is the sensor itself and not the port on the console...it'd
be a lot easier to ship the kinect than the system...

Off to phone support I go!

How do I get my Xbox One to sign me in automatically without kinect?

Seeing that my Kinect died on me a week ago then umm yeah, auto sign-in without Kinect should be in future update.

Mine passed away Feb24/14 (RIP)... it lived a simple life, always gently glowing on my tv display.

I ordered a replacement the same day. Still nothing, although I was told by support it will be arriving shortly....

I kinda miss it, my X1 just dosent seem complete.....

 

People missing their Kinects after the months of hate leading up to launch. Happy yet heart breaking sight.

 

Just wait for the Trolls. they will derail this thread. I feel for you man Im on my 3rd xbox one.

 

My Kinect has also died, if you could post back with any suggestions Microsoft suggested that would be great!

 

*some people...and also those that hated it leading up to launch mainly still dont like it...still a useless gadget. All the voice commands could of been implented through a microphone in a controller...no need for a useless camera unless you're one of
those "look at me" types or enjoy those jumping around games...should of been optional or a kinect bundle and then all the voice commands done through a microphone in the controller...hope every single kinect breaks and they realize this was an overpriced
gimmick and cheaply made.

 

What trouble are people having? Just suddenly ceasing to turn on or function?

I managed to drop mine face flat down about 3ft on to solid wood after an hour of taking it out the box and mines never had any trouble.

 

Still on my family's 1st Xbox One with Kinect.

 

Sucks.. had that happen as well about a month ago.. did all the trouble shooting I read online and nothing worked.. called support directly, of course he wanted me to do all the trouble shooting again while on the phone with him. In the end it was dead,
they shipped me out a new sensor and asked me to send my defective one back in same box (they paid for all of that). The only catch (and it was fair) was they put a hold on my cc for the cost of a new Kinect that was released when they received mine back on
their end (they give you like 12 days from receiving the new one before the auth changes to a payment). Best of luck but go this route.. easy, no arguments just replace and move on. I've no trouble with new one to this point.

 

@Dynamic Sausage Basically the Kinect says that it is unplugged even though it is plugged in.
