My Kinect 2.0 is dying, send it in or buy another?

So my Kinect 2.0 has started messing up over the past month and it's progressively getting worse. It'll work for a few days and then won't respond or power on. I've tried every single solution to fix it to no avail. It's not under warranty with MS so I'd
have to send it off but was curious as to how much it would cost? If it's too much I might just buy a new one a skip the hassle.

If in the US, I would ck around Pawn Shops for a good used one. Often you can pick up one for less than 50 bucks.. IF you can find them there. Its not every day that people bring them in, and even if they do. There isn't really a demand for them, so they
go cheap.

 

My started dying a week ago and it what out of warranty so MS wanted me to pay $90 for a refurbished p.o.s.. Luckily my nephew doesn't use his kinect so he gave it to me and I traded in my broken unit at Gamestop for $27.50. It still isn't a lot but I think
that's the best price we're ever going to see for trade in value on a kinect.

 

If/when my Kinect dies there is no way I will pay for another one whether it be new or used. Do I like my Kinect? Yes. Do I like it enough to buy another one? No.

 

If it's no longer under warranty, buy a new one. The hassle and cost of sending it in for repair is too unbearable that you may end up paying almost the same price maybe more for repair vs buy new one. And if you buy a new Kinect it will come with a 12 month
warranty too from Microsoft. I got Xbox 1 Day One, and my Kinect is still working fine as well as the console. I still play far more on Xbox 360 and who could blame me, 360 has way way way way more people on it than Xbox 1 has. 80% of my friends are stuck
on 360.

Kinect is awesomeness. 1080p. voice commands. gestures. play certain games with it. video chat. voice chat. QR codes. Use it to sign in on your console securely even if you have a twin it can tell who's you.
