I apologize but according to Xbox Support:

"If this is your first time changing your gamertag, you can change it one time for free. This is regardless of whether we created it for you automatically when you first signed up for Xbox (meaning you didn't choose it yourself) or if you created your own gamertag at signup.

Note After changing your gamertag once, all future gamertag changes require a fee (cost varies by region and currency)."

Sadly, we need to pay for the Gamertag change if it's already been changed, PaladinJad.

That is incredibly stupid that that is the policy. Now I lost a legacy xbox username. How come you can set a pin to have to be entered to make any other changes on the account EXCEPT the gamertag, thats extremely sloppy and bad business on the part of Microsoft. Poor customer service and user experience.

I apologize, PaladinJad. We can always set up a passkey on our Xbox account for our Xbox in that way other users will not be able to use our account without our permission.
