My keyboard wont work randomly?

A keyboard that powers but won’t connect, especially with one key LED flashing, often points to a hardware or driver issue. Let’s narrow it down:

1. Test on another device

Plug the keyboard into a different PC or laptop

If the same F3 LED flash happens and keys don’t register, it’s likely a hardware fault

2. Try different USB ports and cables

Use a known-good USB cable (if detachable) and alternate USB ports—preferably direct ports on the PC’s back panel

Avoid USB hubs for testing

3. Check Windows keyboard drivers

On your PC, press Windows + X > Device Manager

Expand Keyboards, right-click your device > Uninstall device

Restart PC—Windows will auto-reinstall the driver

4. Look for firmware or software conflicts

If your keyboard uses companion software (e.g., for RGB), uninstall it temporarily

Check the manufacturer’s site for a firmware update

5. Inspect for stuck or shorted keys

The flashing F3 light could mean that key’s switch is stuck or the controller board is failing

Gently remove the F3 keycap and test the switch with a paperclip—if it feels loose or unresponsive, the switch may be damaged

6. RMA or replacement

If it still won’t register on multiple devices and ports, contact the keyboard maker for warranty service or replacement

I start up fortnite then plug in my keyboard and mouse and only my keyboard works how do i fix this ?

What model of keyboard and mouse are you using?. There is of course a work in progress for both, I highly suggest using a wired Keyboard and mouse only at this current moment on fortnite.

Both are wired but mouse wont work on any game is my mouse broke???

Hey, I have connected my controller via USB but still I get get lags many random times, and my character/car randomly moves either left or right in the game but it works fine while on keyboard

no, sorry, no direct bluetooth connection. only with dongle

and of course, there are some keyboards/mouse that wont work.

I have done all those steps and it still wont work for me, I have even power cycled my xbox series x and reset my PC but the xbox companion app still wont display the keyboard for typing on my PC.
