    My installed games won't launch for XBOX game pass and I can't install any new game


    I was pre installing Age of empires IV in D:/ drive (Not system drive). I accidentally turned off power connection of my PC. After that I restarted it and tried installing again but an error was being showed. I thought previous files were the conflict (They were occupying about 20+ GBs). I got admin control of WindowsApps folder of D drive (The folder with same name is intact for other drives) and found two folders with latest name. I kind of accidentally permanently deleted those files. (It was a stupid move). After that no game is launching (Except Hello neighbours installed on F;/) and games won't install on any drive. I really wanted to play AOEIV on first day. Can someone please tell what I can do? Trying to launch any installed game leads me to Gaming services in Microsoft store. Trying to update which (Software is already installed) shows an error (Code: 0x8007139F). I really wish the community may help me.

    basically you broke the encryption of the folder when you took ownership, you need to completely removed the folder and start over.

    I had this issue around a year ago. I could tell you all the 10 steps I followed to solve it, unfortunately what helped me to solved this was to restart my PC as it comes here:

    In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!

    Thank you for replying. Before submitting I deleted the whole WindowsApps folder. Now following your advice I copied the backup to D:/ (Only had an empty directory named Deleted). I created a new directory named msixvc and nothing works. I guess I'm missing some more steps. It would really be great if you can guide me further. Thanks.

    Hi there Syed welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Me and a friedn had a similar situation his solution was deleting certain files on all the accounts on the pc including admin account. Go to file explorer>this pc> (whatever drive you use)> windowsapps> msixvc> and delete all those files, you may have to change read wrote permissions but after that I was able to download and install games! Please let me know if it helped because I jad to do a different process.
