My home Xbox won't share. What do I do?

Just a heads up though that Home Xbox can only be done on one console at a time, you cannot do this on multiple consoles. You can only share the subscription through Home Xbox as well and if you have the subscription on your account, you would need to set Home Xbox to your account only so you can share that to whoever plays on the Xbox console. You cannot do this again on another Xbox console if you have already set up Home Xbox to that first console.

Given that your account has the subscription, you should be able to play the game using your account on any consoles.

I understand you need help on your Home Xbox problem. Is this only happening to other accounts or is this also happening to your account that owns the subscription?

Hi Ronnie, thank you for taking the time to respond.

I have my subscription account and I added children's account to my subscription account.

My actual account is the gamepass ultimate, giving me access to the Microsoft Live and access to 1000 games.

There is also an Xbox added as well. That was set up to my account but there were issues so his mum got that account sorted differently.

When the second Xbox was set it wouldn't work with my account and I thought it needed a second ultimate game pass. I am not so tech regarding this all. His mum sorted out the pass for him. I wanted them to play together with myself included. But the 1st Xbox is now playing up with saying it needs a purchase, unless if he logs into my account first only for Sea of thieves only. He can play other games freely without asking to pay for subscription. But Sea of Thieves, it seems a parent has to pay for it. Why?

I am just hearing about game sharing and stuff but when I used my account for the second Xbox it wouldn't work it said it needed a subscription so I thought, it couldn't be done, hence, why I said his mum paid for the subscription.

Did I do something wrong with the second Xbox? Do they need to be hard reset?

It was already set as the home Xbox. What else do I need to do to share it?

My wife and I share a subscription because I game way more than her. What we do is share gold on my home Xbox(hers) and have hers set to my home Xbox to allow this. Then I dont need to be signed into her Xbox for her to play online. Do the same, just need
a second account.
