My Home Xbox switches

This is a message to just really understand the purpose of the 5 switches and how you can be unruly punished.

When i got my series S i moved my ONE into my bedroom to allow tv and gaming for both me and my boy.

I set up a family account and to start with all was working well then we found out we couldn't play the same game at the same time (Cue googling) found out its not possible the gmae would also need to be owned by the other user to allow 2 runs of the game.

So i just allowed my boy to play the game but it wouldn't let him so we performed a home Xbox switch which allowed it to work = Switch 2

We were then playing the same game at the same time, fast forward later in the day same thing happens but now on the other console = Switch 3

We then had issues playing again so in the end i decided to just buy the game for him to save the hassle and the prospect of losing switches.

Now my house mate and i agreed to a share for Vanguard and battlefield which we did before these antics.

i realised this week i could access COD: MW although i own the disc i cant play it as i have no disc drive so i had access because of his ownership, then he informed me that he could not access battlefield, so i went to re-establish my gameshare link but apparently used all my switches.

Now i understand the reasons for limits it stops exploiting the generosity of splitting a game price in half even if they are more expensive than the disk.

However when it comes to 2 consoles you own for a family, I don't think such limits should apply, we are now at risk of both of us potentially having to spend £80+ each to play these games.

Maybe something to consider as these consoles are considered as Home Media units. maybe put in place some limit free switching for such especially as i could of saved myself 2 switches which were done out of confusion and not being fully educated on the matter.

To possibly get an extra switch you may check if the survey to get one is available on your end.

Please follow the steps below:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

2. Select System > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

If you see the option "HELP" please click that and if you see a choice of "Need one more?" you may get an additional one by answering a quick survey.

I agree I have three xbox ones in my home and depending on who is playing what where sometimes you need to switch.

The limit is in place to cut down on abuse, such as what you've done with your friend. The Home setting is only meant to be used on your own console. Sharing accounts is a violation of the code of conduct so you're putting you and your friends at risk
for being banned.
