My home xbox issues

Whenever I try to make my console or my friend’s console my home xbox I recieve a message that says the changes could not be saved. I’ve done this with him twice now and nothing is saved but I have fewer switches available to me. Does anybody know what’s
going on?

My Home Xbox Issues

If you have two xbox ones, set the console in the living room to be your home xbox. This will grant anyone access to your digital content. When you sign in to xbox live on the console in your room only you will have access to the digital content and only
when you are signed in to xbox live. Note: if your account is signed in on the second xbox (the one in your room). Other signed in accounts will have access to your digital content again.

There should be no need to change back and forth between home consoles with this setup unless multiple users need access to digital content on both xbox ones and you don't want your account signed in on the second xbox.

Make sure you have a liable internet connection. Also it is important to note that you only get to do that on one console at a time, no more. You get a total of 5 switches to where you can switch your account to link to another console and that console gets
access to all online bought content. Once you use them all you have to wait until the first day of next year to get 5 more. Best of luck!

No, you can't get arount it as its a safeguard to prevent unautorized account/game sharing.. in order for your brother to access your games and content without being logged into your account the console he plays on has to be set as your "home console/xbox"
the three switches per year is to prevent unautorized use of the feature.. as I understand it the home console function is meant to allow sharing of games/content by people living under the same roof.. I would not recomend trying to work around this by giving
your brother access to your live account as this would fall under the term "account sharing" which is against the tou & coc and will result in an account and/or console ban.

According to the explanation you have provided, I believe you will only need to follow those simple steps that I will provide you with and your issue should be fixed.

The first step you will need to follow is to ensure that your home console is set up correctly, so please follow the link bellow:

Designate a home Xbox | Xbox Support

After you make sure that the account you have the subscription is set up correctly please sign out or switch profile, then sign in with the account that does not own the subscription.

The second step is to make sure that you are signed in with two different profiles.

Please make sure that the profile that does not own the subscription is the one signed in on the console you made the home xbox. As for the account that owns the subscription can be signed on the other console.
