My Headset and Controller constantly cut out and turn off while playing

I just got me new XBOX Series X, (finally!) and my Arctis 9x headset is wonky. It connects, but then is very choppy and frequently just turns off. I have to turn the headset off and then back on again to reconnect, and I tell the xbox which user is using it will come on for a little while then cut back out. Everything I find on the issue says something about the controller, but I don't believe my headset is connected to my controller at all. Some posts say it is interference with my router or cell phone? Microsoft recommended the headset, is it really cutting out because of my wifi? Any help or insight would be appreciated, I don't want to have to go out and get a new (wired) headset.....

I'm literally getting the same exact problem. I just bought this headset maybe a week or two ago and the problems have persisted throughout. I've tried disabling my wifi entirely to eliminate any type of interference. No change, turned off my controller, turned off my phone wifi, I think it's a console problem. I don't understand how these got certified as proprietary hardware when they clearly don't work as promised.

I always make sure my controller is turned off before connecting my headset.

if I plug the headset into the controller while it is on, it doesn't recognise the headset as being there at all.

Could it be to do with the batteries? Although I've charged them all and also plugged directly into the console and the sound still doesn't work. I've tried everything. Swapping headsets, swapping controllers, turning the machine off and on. The headset
works and then cuts out. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have had a set of Turtle Beach X3s for years and love them. I play almost exclusively late at night while the wife and kids are asleep and don't want to wake them. They are not the most expensive option ($99) but my friends never complain that they can't
hear me. A few of them have more expensive headsets and they constantly cut out.

once in a while my newish controller will do it - not jump on the spot though - mine will start walking backwards constantly even switching them. But will stop if I turn it off then reconnect it.
