I have my hard drive plugged into my Xbox and it is being recognized just got new cords for it, and it won't open or play any of my games. It's says there was an error opening the app, might need to finish installing and stuff like that but we have had this game for awhile it's been downloaded to the Xbox, and it's up to date on updates. What confuses most of all is that we play these games on a daily basis and it was working for us then we went to sleep won't up the next morning and now it's like this. What do I do, how do I fix it.

    :)

My hard drive is being recognized so why isn't it opening any of my games?

    Hello sharon claunts,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I can see that your hard drive is not opening any of your games. This could be due to a number of reasons, such as corrupted data, faulty connection, or incompatible format. Here are some steps you can try to fix the issue:

    - Make sure your hard drive is properly connected to your Xbox console and has enough power supply.

    - Check if your hard drive has enough free space to run the games. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Storage and selecting your hard drive.

    - Try clearing the cache on your hard drive by holding the power button on your console for 10 seconds, then unplugging the power cord and waiting for another 10 seconds before plugging it back in and turning on the console.

    - If the problem persists, you may need to format your hard drive to make it compatible with your console. However, this will erase all the data on your hard drive, so make sure you back up any important files before proceeding. To format your hard drive, go to Settings > System > Storage and select your hard drive, then choose Format for Games & Apps.

External Hard Drive Not Recognized Anymore

Thanks for your reply! I did try that out, it does recognize other usb/external hard drives, so I'm thinking the problem is more with this particular hard drive that suddenly isn't being recognized anymore.

    HDD not displaying installed games

It wasn't and isn't that the storage isn't being detected. It's that it recognizes the hard drive is plugged in, tells me it's at 100% capacity, and shows no games. It tells me that I have 250 games ready to install even though it can identify the hard drive.
