My GPU is not being used at all for FH4

Hello, I have recently bought a new PC and just yesterday I installed FH4. When I loaded up, the ingame benchmark suggested I play at all low settings. However, my frame rate is still quite low despite this and I average around 20-30 FPS.

My specs are as followed:

Ryzen 7 3800X

Palit GT 1030 2GB DDR4

16GB of RAM @ 3200 Mhz

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB M.2 (Boot Drive)

1TB Hard Drive (For Games)

When I load up FH4 and start driving around I open up NZXT Cam which is what I use to monitor my CPU and GPU and it tells me that my GPU usage is very low around 1-2% when it is meant to be much higher when playing games. Whenever I play other games my GPU usage is high but it seems that it is only FH4 that is causing this problem or me. I have tried to go to NVDIA Control Panel, Manage 3D settings and find FH4 and select my rendering GPU to the one I have. Still the same results. Could anyone please help me with this?

Even maybe down to 720p, granted the game won't look great at 720p but they may only just get a short glimpse now and then of 60fps with everything still on at the lowest settings.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. I found a thread where this problem is mentioned, after numerous solutions the client tried what solved for him was to activate the option Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, to activate this option follow the instructions below.

System
Display
Graphics Settings
Enable the Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling option

- For this option to appear you must be using the latest version of Windows 10 or 11, so make sure your windows are up to date, for that follow the instructions below.

Select the Start button and then go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update.

Hello Mateus, I wanted to say thank you for your help with this issue. I am managing to get more FPS within game. Although it isn't by much it is certainly a difference.

Your PC only has one graphics card a GT1030. The Ryzen 7 3800X is just a CPU, it has no integrated graphics hardware. I can't understand why the it is showing low utilisation, but it is being used as you don't have any other graphics hardware.

As for the performance, I'm not surprised it's running poorly. The GT1030 is an extremely basic dedicated graphics card, not much better than the integrated GPU's in the 10th and 11th gen Intel processors. So anything around the region of 30fps on the GT1030 sounds about right to me.

In short you have a perfectly fine modern CPU, which is being bottlenecked by a very low end GPU. If you want to get 60fps, you need an upgrade, which would be a GTX 1660 at the very least for an experience on par and exceeding an Xbox One X console.

You may also need a better power supply to power a better graphics card.
