    Sometimes when i go to start a party chat or play an online game i get a message saying that i need a gold membership permission, which i have only just renewed a few days ago, it wouldn’t let me do anything online untill i paid another $10 then it shown
    my membership active for a year please explain, I don’t want to pay $10 everytime i play a game or join chat.

    Gold membership isn't being recognised

    Hi, bought my daughter an xbox one S sea of theives bundle. We set it up and used the code to buy sea of theives. She installed the game and went to play it but it said we needed a gold membership to play it. We bought a 3mth gold membership and I had an
    email confirming this. Under "memberships" on the xbox itself, it says that she's a gold member, but when she tries to play sea of theives, it's still saying that she needs to buy a gold account! Also, state of decay 2 won't load further than the title screen.
    It just goes back to the xbox home screen. I've been trying to speak to someone at xbox but I'm getting nowhere. Can anybody help please? Tried uninstalling and reinstalling both games but that didn't work.

    As a precaution, if you submit payment with a credit card there will be a forced automatic renewal option. Although some sources say you can remove this online - that feature is broken and the only current way to remove this is by calling their support at:
    Toll free: (800) 4MY-XBOX or (800) 469-9269

    If you opt not to cancel the auto-renew, by the time you see the charge on your bank account it may be too late to request a refund. (For myself it wasn't charged until 30 days after the 'billing date')

    If you do opt to call them to cancel the auto-renew be sure to have the information listed from this page handy:
    support.xbox.com/.../call-us.aspx

    Ive been onto that and the email address on thebilling page is the Live ID for his x box so i dont think ive put in on another account because we only have one!!! I have paid 39.99 and the balance on the accounnt is 0.00. Dont understand it at all!!!!

    Go to billing.microsoft.com and see what is going on with your account. Did you by chance put the gold time on the wrong account?
