    my Gold account not allowed to play on Xbox Live


    I just upgraded to the latest update, and found that my profile not allowed to play on Xbox LIVE, I've double checked my profile both on console and xbox.com, and my Gold Member is current. And I tested many games (CoD, Halo), also I've checked my privacy
    settings, all are OK.

    So, what's the problem with my account? I seldom play online these months, what happened? Thanks

    cant use my xbox live gold

    i just bought xbox live gold but on my xbox it says xbox live free but on your memberships it says xbox live gold but when i try to play online it says my account is not allowed to

    Hello Boom,

    Are you playing on the same account you're using to post here?

    This account is only Silver (free tier) and thus is not allowed to play multiplayer.

    Only Gold accounts are allowed to play multiplayer.

    You are not the only one seeing this issue. I my self is going through it. Maybe get in touch with xbox over the phone. About account issues.

    Gold membership allows you to access Xbox LIVE, but to play online with someone they will need to use their own account, or some games have the option to use a guest account to be able to play on LIVE with the main gold user.
