My GOAL is for MICROSOFT to reinstate the ALWAYS ONLINE POLICY !

I think it comes to a point where enough is enough. MS is reducing the KINECT burden from 8% to 2% for XBOX ONE and the console has only been released roughly 3 month. I don't believe a kinectless version would help. I would prefer they keep the kinect 2.0
in all console, because the dev can use it.

They can release a 4G verison of XBOX ONE for people with bad connect and bring back the ALWAYS ONLINE for all user.

The XBOX ONE is not under power. It was originally designed to use CLOUD PROCESSING for game but the sudden reversal of the always online policy really screwed everything up. Now the devs only have DDR3 and the added complexity of ESRAM. Look at the parity
between 3rd party games and you will know.

I want my 3rd party games to be 1080P and 60FPS just like the other console.

Anyone with me ???? Those who want MS to revers the always online policy need to be more vocal.

I'm curious, what exactly did they have to change after finding out Microsoft reversed the console's always online policy, even though the game is still always online?

 

I actually didnt mind the always online requirement. I always have my xbox connected anyway. I just wish they would have extended the check in time from 24 hrs to a something longer.

 

Yeah, I think there should be compromised like extending 24 check in time. I just wish they would compromise to some extent but not just scrap the whole thing.

 

The always online doesn't even have to be a "requirement" per se. Just let the user know:

"WARNING: Xbox detects you are not connected to the Internet

Game X uses the Microsoft cloud feature to enhance gameplay experience. Some features will be missing or reduced if you choose not to connect to the cloud

PRESS A to connect to the internet or B to continue"

Problem solved.

It was never an "Always Online" policy... It was a 24HR check-in.

The X1 has built in Wi-Fi. Why would they need to release a 4G version? Add the fact that 4G is expensive for the limited data it provides. Have you thought this though?

The magical "CLOUD PROCESSING" will save us all! My gaming tower has 8Gbs of DDR3 and is no slouch. The added complexity of eSRAM? THEY designed the bloody thing.

No. Always online won't do a bloody thing for 1080p/60fps.

I wouldn't mind.( I don't want any drm though) more devs would use the cloud if everyone had access to it.

 

I don't care if Microsoft bring back their DRM policies because I'm always online, but if Microsoft do bring back their old policies will it hurt sales?. Microsoft changed their policies for a reason.

 

Did any of you ever go up to a mirror look in it and think that's me. I don't even know myself how did I become to exist were did the sky the stars the planets come from. How did the the universe come to exist why are we here. Then just shrug, sit down go
back to the computer and think...... What if Microsoft bring back their Drm policies.

 

this is your goal? Why don't you ask Micro$oft for a revised console with a removable HDD since installs are mandatory while you're at it? Sorry, when my collection reaches its peek, I'm not scuffling through my discs to find
a game I haven't played in a day or 2 just so I can pop the disc in, pop it back out and start playing it again or if I haven't been online in 1-2 days.

 

I will address some of the issue that other users have posted since MS doesn't let you directly reply to specific post in the forum.

1. I know the 24 hr check in policy, but they could just remove that part and kept the always online part. I seriously don't get why people are so afraid of 24 check in. I really don't mind since I paid $59.99 for live, so I want to get the most out of it.

2. The fear of MS loosing sale due to 24 hr check in doesn't stand too. If XBOX ONE was kinectless, I am pretty sure MS know it would sell alot more with a lower price. KINECT would hurt sales more than the always online policy. Why didn't the gamers complain
about the KINECT and complain about the 24hr check in.

3. I know they are already using CLOUD for FORZA AI, but that doesn't equal to computer processing. I am talking about being always online, so the devs doesn't have to worry about not being able to design their to utilize process through cloud.

Its all about cloud now. MS even said XBOX ONE would be 3 times more powerful.

But I don't think you understand. The cloud is always there, it's up to game devs if they want their game to offload certain things to the cloud, or like Bungie for instance, build a game with a persistent online world ala Destiny. If a dev doesn't build a
game that requires you to be online, then that's their decision. It has nothing to do with the cloud as I understand it. But hey, I could be wrong.

 

You guys really are unbelievable. If you look on the next page there was this exact same thread that went for six pages. And there have been many more like it. Just let it go before it gets out of control again.
