  1. My Gaming Monitor Doesn’t Support 120Hz?

I recently bought the Series X and a gaming monitor to go with it. It claims to have 144Hz but on the 4K tv details it says my tv setup doesn’t support 60&120hz. Can anyone explain this for me?

    Xbox Series X 1440p @ 120hz

Thank you for the response. I’m currently using Acer 27" 1440p WQHD 165Hz 4ms GTG Curved VA LED as my gaming monitor. If this doesn’t fit the exact 120hz requirement, is there a list that shows all supported monitors?

    Xbox one s 1440p 120hz problems

    Hi,

This monitor only supports 100Hz over HDMI with FreeSync turned ON (higher via Display Port).

With FreeSync OFF this monitor does support 1440p @ 120Hz as per the Manual and LG support.

This makes means that with FreeSync ON you will be limited to 60Hz with xbox. Can you try turning off FreeSync via the Monitor and/or untick Variable Refresh Rate on the xbox. Hopefully this makes 120Hz available to you.
I have tried turning freesync off on the monitor side and vrr off on the xbox, still doesn’t allow me to select 1440p@ 120hz.

My Xbox series S won't run at 1440p 120fps even if my monitor says it can.

I have an Asus gaming monitor and had a similar issue; i turned of freesync and it seems to have fixed the issue using all the components that came with series s. When playing MW2 a window pops up showing refresh rate at 120hz, when playing NBA 2k drops down to 60hz as 2k doesn’t support 120hz. In the main tv/video settings it is set to 1440p and 120hz.

    Hope this helps

MW2 Display Bug Xbox Series X

I think it’s a tv/monitor refresh rate problem. The game is running at 120hz but my tv is 60hz so they are not in sync. The mw2 Xbox version doesn’t have the same settings that pc does to adjust. I also don’t have $500 to drop on a new monitor to test this theory.

    Xbox one s 1440p 120hz problems

I have tried turning freesync off on the monitor side and vrr off on the xbox, still doesn’t allow me to select 1440p@ 120hz.
That’s frustrating, only thing i can now think to suggest is that to ensure your xbox is fully up to date and after turning off freesync on the monitor. Fully restart the console and try again. Maybe only the XBox One X supports 1440p @ 120Hz?
