Game took too long to start

Hello, have you tried restarting the xbox. I found this usually solves a majority game starting issues. If you are unsure how to go to this link for step by step directions, vladimir checa on Twitter

try doing a hard reset of the console by holding the power button on the front of the console until it turns off then unplug the power brick from the console and the outlet for a couple of minutes then plug back in and power back on and try the game again..

If that doesn't work try a un-install/re-install of the game.

last solution would be to do a console reset by going to settings, system, console and updates then selecting reset console. choose to keep everything and your console will restart and will take you through a quick set up and sign in again and try the game
    again.

I know this is a year old but I've been having this problem recently. When's I boot up my system nothing will start, any game or app I try to open won't and I get the "took too long to start" message. I called customer support and they said to do the console
reset which I did, but not even 30 minutes later my home screen was freezing up and I couldn't do anything. After researching this thorough and only finding the same "solutions" none of them work, so I'm starting to believe this is a problem with the unit
itself. Whether the drive goes bad or whatever else could be causing this (using original 500 gb with no external HDD) I'm thinking after so many years they just go bad. Lucky I still have an extended warranty which I will be using unless there is a fix. The
reset worked at first so the issue was "resolved" but it only lasted about 30 minutes. Frankly I'm very upset because I keep my console in great condition and I can't have this problem bogging me down. It's now every single time I boot up and the only fix
is the reset, a hard reboot, or waiting about 5-10 minutes and the dashboard resets and then starts working. I think it's an internal issue.

My games too long to start???

Have you tried clearing your console' cache?

You can do this by holding down the power button on your console for about 10 seconds.

    After that reboot.

Usually the problem is resolved with the power cycle system and resetting the console to the factory settings. You can also try to install the content on an external HDD to see if the content works. You should also understand if all games do not work or
someone in particular, so you can disinstall and reinstall it.

Yes several times, in fact it's the easiest way to get it back up and running but then a day later it's doing the same thing.

It seems to be a system problem, the whole console will freeze up sometimes after booting it up, meanwhile any game or app I try to open says "took too long to start." I've done the console reset but did not dot reset to factory settings because I really
don't want to have to re download my games, but what would that accomplished if there is a problem with hardware, it would have to be a software problem correct? Thanks for your help btw.
