My games dont work

The game was only free to play over the weekend. That event is over now. If you want to keep playing, you'll have to purchase the game.

I just told you that you don't need to physically have the old Xbox. Follow the instructions in the link provided in the post above and license transfer.

Got rid of old Xbox before tranfering licences now I'm afraid that I will not be able to get them now

I'm not sure why you're not able to license transfer? You should be able to by following the directions
here. You don't need to have the old console in order to do a license transfer. You'd only need to have access to the new console, you select the console id or serial number (whichever comes
up) of the console you wish to transfer licenses from.

After getting some rest. I found out I was wrong; the HDD is removable. Moot point because the On Demand games are on the drive. But cleaning dust out is never a bad idea.

I flipped the xbox to lay on it's side. It seemed a bit too warm. Should provide better air flow.

Then after checking back here and seeing no answers... I bit the bullet and formatted the HDD. And that seems to have done the trick. Start up is quicker. Downloaded Dark Souls that worked. Installed Mass Effect that worked.

Soooo now I'll get back to playing.
