    My games are unplayable and disappearing from my hard drive


    I updated a game to play it once it finished it moved to ready to install section and was showing up as uninstalled. This has now happens with every download and update I have made and I cannot play anything.

    Mandatory Install With Only 500GB

    Can you play games from a optical drive, of course you can. Are those drives as quick as a hard drive, no they are not.

    There is technically no reason you can't run games from the optical drive in a PC either, you'll simply get far better performance from having a game installed onto a hard drive.

    Games are getting larger in size and while they no doubt can be run from an optical drive, the loading times would become such to make games near unplayable.

    Family game night download disapearing

    Downloaded Family game night ( free download ) then purchased 4 full game add ons, Connect 4, Battleship, Jenga and sorry. When you log out or turn the system off, the game is no longer in my games area. Checking purchase content all 4 add ons are there
    but the the main Family game night is not. Have deleted hard drive cache and marketplace cache. Have deleted the game and traces from hard drive and re-downloaded. The game will play but I have to go to game market place, and t eh 3 options are rate the game,
    play now or download again. When I hit play now it allows us to play and recognizes the add ons. Why does this game keep disappearing from my games folder?????

    Are you sure you have enough space on your hard drive to download the update? It will stay uninstalled if you do not have enough space.

    You could also try hard resetting your xbox (Holding the power button until the console shuts down and unplugging the power cord for 5 minutes) and uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

    Hi sorry for the late reply.

    Powershell didn't seem t work but after rebooting my computer a couple of nights ago the game had just disappeared from my hard drive. I've since reinstalled the game and it's working perfectly. Thanks for the help.

    My games are disappearing from my xbox one

    Hi they are all installed games. My storage size reflects that they are no longer on the hard drive as well both times. The first time it happened I performed a hard reset, when that didn't do anything I did a factory reset and set everything back up,
    but it still happened again this second time. I tried removing and adding my account but it's still showing my games are not on my hard drive and it's reflected on the storage size as well. I haven't lost access to them, they are still on my account and ready
    to download I just don't want them disappearing from my hard drive on my Xbox in the first place.

    @EzMac3, My profile is not on my hard drive after I reinstalled my XBOX software. The other 2 profile of the family are still there but mine disappeared and now it doesn't download anymore. I even tried the steps from alienroll but the same result.

    The good thing is that the profile is downloaded on the flash drive but would you know why I am unable to move it back to the hard drive.
