    I came home and the black screen was there. I fixed it by taking out the Ethernet cable and that worked but all my games are gone. I have a 1 tb external hard drive is there anything I can do.

    Download them again. Your purchases and progress on them should all be saved in the cloud.

    Sorry for any issues you are having due to the Service alert. Looks like the service alert is
    coming to an end.
    Please
    power cycle your console     and see if it is back to normal when it comes up. If you're still unable to see your games, you may wish to remove and then re-add your profile to the console.
