My games and apps aren't downloading or updating, what do I do?

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor here to help you with your concern.

Do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? If yes, please unplug the hard drive and then perform a power cycle before attempting to install or update a game again, keep the hard drive unplugged.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​"

If you don't have an external hard drive we may need to reset the console keeping your games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

What is your maximum download speed from your ISP? When you open up My Games & Apps and a download is running what speed do you show? And do you have several games trying to update at the same time?

Go to your network settings and in advanced options change the DNS to primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4

Remove your account from the console

Press and hold the power button on the console until the Xbox turns off completely.

When the indicator lights on the front panel of the Xbox turn off, unplug the power cord from the back of the Xbox.

Wait at least 30 seconds.

Reconnect the Xbox console and turn it back on.

Re-enter your account and test if the error persists.
