    My gamertag


    So I've been having some problems with people on games like Call of Duty, and Minecraft, online games in general, being extremely violent in the way they talk to me. This isn't really something that matters to me, because I've never acknowledged it. But
    I also happen to watch a little boy and his baby sister, and I can't keep an eye on him. But recently I've noticed some serious offensiveness coming from people on the mic talking about the current gamertag I have, which is probably the biggest problem I have.
    I don't have money to change it, and I'm not sure how to deal with this, I don't want him to start cursing or anything, because I would get in major trouble. I've been with xbox for several years, and I really don't want this to be the reason why I switch
    to another console.

    My police for judging gamertags is: if I can read it, it's perfet. Shmigloo is kind of readable, so it's kind of perfect.

    You would need to file complaints and block communications with people like that. The only way to change your gamertag is by paying for it.

    FYI, you would run across the same type of people on other systems, but other systems don't allow a name change at all.

    Unable to change gamertag

    I'm trying to change my classic gamertag which is the one you see in games. My classic gamertag got changed and my Xbox One and Xbox App gamertag stayed the same (the Xbox One gamertag is the ones they added with the new gamertag system).

    My Xbox One gamertag is different to my in-game gamertag and I want my classic gamertag to be changed. You can only change your classic gamertag on the Xbox One console, I have tried using the other ways and you can only change your Xbox Gamertag, not your
    classic gamertag.

    The reason I want to change my classic gamertag is that the classic gamertag can be fifteen characters and the Xbox One gamertag can only be 12 characters. If I use the other ways to change my gamertag it limits me to 12 characters and sets both my gamertags
    to that.

    We are very aware of the websites that suggest this as a way to get a free gamertag change. You will notice that they have shut the thread down and it is over a year old. You will need to block communications and report those who are harassing you. But note
    that use of social engineering to obtain services is a violation of the code of conduct.

    forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx     to find out why you received a forced name change, but it is likely your name was offensive in some way and somebody reported it.
