    My gamertag won't change!


    For the last 5 years I have used the username , everywhere possible (some places had character limits) and now, I have recently made a Microsoft account for my Xbox. My Xbox gamertag defaulted to WilyCrayfish977. As I have always done, I tried finding out how to change it, and successfully reached [https://social.xbox.com/changegamertag], and attempted to change it to . However, it says: This gamertag isn't allowed. Try a different one. Why is this happening? I don't see anything offensive in my username! The tf stands for "transformers", the ninja stands for "ninja", and the doom stands for "doom". This has been a codename I have used for myself since I was a child, because I had been avidly addicted to the first two, and I liked the sound of the third one. Why won't it let me select the gamertag of my choice? This is the one thing people and my friends recognize me as, and I don't want to publicly state my real name to anyone. Please tell me what I have done wrong and why I can't change it to ...

    it is the tf as it is an abreviation for something else, just tried with a completely different name and placed tf first and went straight to not allowed, removed tf and it was ok.

    you will need to change that, microsoft wont change.

    Heya. It can usually take up to 48 hours for your gamertag to appear in all places, console too.

    Restart your Xbox when its been 48 hours and if it hasn't worked then, you may need to hard reboot your Xbox so the sync can happen properly.

    To hard reset on your Xbox one, hold your power button while the consoles on, for 8-10 seconds then it'll turn off. Unplug your power bank, then wait 10 minutes, then plug everything on again and it should change
