My gamertag was forced to change.

My old Gamertag was [Moderator removed].

it was automatically changed earlier today for being found offensive. It was changed to '' I want the old name back. If someone is offended by
[Mod removed], then you need to disable all voice communications over xbox live.

You play any game and get called every dirty word in the book. If it was that easy to ban people because I found something they said offensive. There wouldn't be anyone playing xbox live right now because they'd all be banned. I could go on my recent players
and drop 100 names for you. Give me a break, give me my old name back. Everybody
[Mod removed], we all read the book when we were 5.

The best part was I tried to change it back and it was going to make me pay $10 for the gamertag change. I've been with xbox live for about 10 years now, the name is suddenly offensive? Please just give me back the old name for free.

Ya Unless its like a common word - Jeff, Toe, Melo that needs to be looked into as to why its FNC was enacted, then Mr Or Miss with handle them other then that XPET has enough to handle, and they are easy to spot why it happened.

forums.xbox.com/.../41.aspx but basically the enforcement team decided it violated the code of conduct and issued a forced name change. Someone may have just recently filed a complaint on your account and that brought it to their attention.

If you were to use the old name again, they could give you another forced change. Having multiple forced name changes can cause you to be banned.

The only thing that truly bothers me about that is that a name of that sort is considered offensive and struck down, yet months after reporting a few blatant drug related names, they remain unchanged. Seems a bit inconsistent to me.

I don't find that word offensive at all, although I can see how some people might find the image of a food item made out of it offensive. Still myself, I have no problem with it. However, if it's against the MS terms then it's against the terms. You have
to expect them to change it when you violate the rules.

You can not create material that is a violation of the LIVE ToU regardless of personal opinions.

It doesn't matter if one or a thousand people find it offensive, or how long you may have been using it. The rules are set in stone and they include gamertags. As mentioned earlier you would have to pay the required amount for a name change now, you do not
get a free one after receiving a forced name change sorry.

Also just to mention repeated violations can lead to more severe enforcement on an account.

Some rumors give the impression that XBLPET will provide a free Gamertag change to accounts that have received a forced Gamertag change. This is not the case.

In the past, a forced Gamertag change gave users the opportunity to change the offending Gamertag free of charge. Unfortunately, this gesture was prone to abuse, and many people simply chose new, equally offensive Gamertags. As a result,
the Gamertag enforcement process changed. A forced Gamertag change now automatically assigns a new Gamertag to the account, much in the same way a system-generated Gamertag is provided when you first sign up for Xbox Live.

If a player is unhappy with the assigned Gamertag and wishes to change it, he or she may purchase a new Gamertag through the

As per the ToU/CoC you agreed to if you receive a forced gamertag change you are given a random gamertag for free to replace the offending one.

Any other changes must be paid for.There are no exceptions.

My gamertag was forced to change.
