My Gamertag that I had for 3 years got banned and Id like to discuss why.

Recently my Gamertag that I had for three years, "MiGiT cLoWn," was banned and now I have had to pay 10o change it to a new one."Although it may have not meant to be offensive it may have been offensive anyways." My argument is, how am I supposed to know
if someone is going to get offended by the word midget spelled incorrectly, and if it was a banable word why was it allowed in the first place?

Resetting my Gamertag

So Microsoft reseted my gamertag, i don't even know why, because I got many likes for my old Gamertag and everyone was happy to read it. So they reseted it without giving me a chance to choose another one. Do you know how I can contact Microsoft to discuss
this problem in detail? I didn't had a problem with this Gamertag for 2 Years :'D its just funny. Thanks for the help.

 

Console and Account Ban

You're missing the point, first of all me and none of my friends ever though I could be banned for using the word MiGiT in my gamertag. Second of all if it wasn't a appropriate word then why let me use it in the first place? If the enforcement team really
is this scared of offending people how do I know what is a right and wrong word to use other than obvious metaphors and slurs.

 

Edit: Also I never meant to offend anyone, do you have any clue how many other midgets, and midgits running around? Its a descriptive adjective, not a slur!

If xbox is this picky with gamertags that offend people they should either not have let me use MiGiT in the first place or been more specific. Now I have to spend $10 because the enforcement team's horrible policy of case review where you get one chance
to make your case instead of having a discussion and their vagueness with what is considered "offensive."

 

The code of conduct. That you agreed to when you signed up.

Filters cannot detect everything, especially a misspelled word. So it's your responsibility to to stick to the code of conduct. While that word may not be offensive to you, it's a very well known word that is offensive to some which is why it's not acceptable.

 

If it is so well know then why did it take three years for them to ban me, also I received two communication bans and they never saw fit to ban my gamertag then. Literally everyone knows me as midget or midg, if youre going to ban me with that then hit me
soon after I make it. Not three years after the fact.
