My Gamertag reset to my old one

I kept telling support to not push the update to the public. It was just going to bring this issue front and center to everyone.

The main issue is they took the money and the change did not happen. Any game that supports the new Gamertag system will, in fact, show the Gamertag I paid to change from.

The thing is, that a lot more people wanted a change with the Gamertag system, so Xbox listened and created the new Gamertag system to please the majority of people that wanted to have their desired Gamertag, even if someone already has that Gamertag.

But as it is with everything else: You can't please every single person. A company as big as Microsoft has to make decisions based on what the majority wants.

If only a few people had complained about the current Gamertag system, Xbox would have saved a lot of money and work and kept the old system. But so many people wanted a change, so they got the new system.

Months?! Are you insane? Changing ones gamertag is a service xbox offers and if they fail to do said service I demand a refund. This is absolutely insane. Don't tell me that **** about being patient, I have had this problem for about two months now and
you're telling me TO WAIT A FEW MORE MONTHS? Nah, I'm calling my bank and telling them to charge back my 10 bucks, this is just not acceptable, especially for a multi-billion dollar firm like Microsoft. Absolutely disappointing.

Are you in the preview program by chance? There are some users who I have seen reporting this issue. Have you removed the account from the console and then re-added it?

I updated my console and then it started showing 2 gamer tags but I was in the insider programme... it has done nothing is there actually going to be a fix for this?

The fix will come automatically after Microsoft has completely finished the transition to the new Gamertag system. The only thing you can do is to wait.

During this time you will see both your old and new Gamertag.

Even after the transition, if an old game hasn't been patched to use the new Gamertag system, you'll see your old Gamertag there probably.
