My gamertag no longer hooks up to Microsoft account.

Ok so about three years ago I had an Xbox and a good account with a bunch of gamer points and all that. So my Xbox mysteriously disappears and I am left without a game and profile, as I didn't know the Xbox live password. So fast forward two years
later I get a new Xbox and since I don't have the password I make a new account. So I eventually reset the password for my old account and try and download it on my new Xbox, but it says that that email doesn't connect with an Xbox live account. It said the
same thing when I tried logging in on xbox.com. I read somewhere that if u don't use your email for four months your account will delete itself. If this is true how do I get it back if not wat is wrong then? Thx

Gamertag

The gamertag in my Microsoft account is wrong. I no longer use that gamertag. I use a different gamertag now, however, the email address I see on xbox live is and old email address I no longer use. Is it possible to put my new gamertag on my Microsoft account?

That is not true. What may be true, however, is that if you did not take steps to protect your account or report it missing to support then whoever got your console changed the email associated with it. If this is the case you could try contacting phone
support now to file an Unauthorized Access Ticket but considering the length of time since you lost it I don't think they'll be able to help much.

 

So does that mean all my achievements are gone forever?

 

And I don't really think anyone 'got' the old console. I think my it is just lost in a storage compartment somewhere

 

There are ways to get a new password if you rememer the e-mail address. There would have been security questions. Without the ability to get into your old email and change your password it will be difficult to retrieve your old gamer tag.
