My gamertag is gone

Ok so I tried to log into my Xbox Live account from my Xbox ONE today and it logged me into one of those generic starter accounts.

My achievements are gone, my friends are gone, my transactions are gone - everything associated with my account (TheSkymaid) is gone. Same thing on the website. Can anybody please help me figure out what is going on?

EDIT: just yesterday I received an email on this MIcrosoft account referencing my correct gamertag and everything, so I'm pretty sure I'm logged on the right email

My son is having the same problem. It just disappeared. We looked for any any corrupt symbols and there were none. Can you tell me what I can try next? Thanks!

Hi SHINEDOWN 313,

Can you check your storage device and see if there is a corrupt profile sitting in that area?

You can do so by going to your Dashboard > Settings > System > Storage > Select your storage device > Gamer Profiles > Look for anything that has a corrupt symbol on it
( ! )

If you end up finding something with that symbol, press A on that profile and go to Delete. You should receive a pop-up asking you to either Delete the Profile, or Delete the Profile plus the items. Please make
sure to delete the profile only.

After that's done, simply re-download the profile and it should be working fine.

Let me know if you don't see any sort of corrupted profiles, or any profiles in the storage device any longer, I'll post some more steps if that is the case.

 

Contact Xbox Support via phone using
support.xbox.com/.../contact-us . It is possible for a Microsoft Account to be deleted/go inactive or for some other issue to happen which would disassociate your gamertag from your Microsoft Account. Have them pull up your account to verify the email that
it is showing on your account and then go from there to see what happened and what resolution is required.
