My Gamertag got changed and won't change back

When I first got my XBoxOne recently I used a two week free coupon for Gold Membership, created an account with a unique gamertag and started playing. Once my trial ran out the system defaulted my gamertag to VividCalf123456 and when I went to purchase a
year long gold membership I assumed it would turn back into the gamertag I have chosen but it did not. After I subscribed and paid $60 I was still VividCalf and when I went to change this the system asked me to pay $10.

Please assist me as I do not think that this is correct. Thanks.

Late lastnight my account was hacked and my gamertag was changed. i got my account back but i would like a force name change for me plz

Unauthorized gamertag change

Hello,

My rooommate changed my gamertag recently and I would like it changed back. I got refunded for the original change but would like to change it back to my original name without having to pay for it. Thank you for your help with this issue

You'll want to check http://enforcement.xbox.com to see if you were given a forced gamertag change. Gamertags don't change on their own unless you were given a forced change.

As long as no one else takes the tag before you take it back, you won't have the suffix. That's only added if someone else has the tag.

The content for a specific game would still be tied to the original account, not the gamertag. So changed the gamertag won't effect the ingame stuff.

No, I don't want to change my gamertag. I've got two gamertags. One for Japan and one for the US. Unfortunately, Microsoft won't allow me to change locales with gamertags. My main Microsoft account that I use now in the US is associated with my Japanese
gamertag, and I want to switch it with the US one.
