My Gamer tag was forced changed.

no actulally I talked to support about the whole situation in which there was nothing wroong with the gamer tag to them, but they are the ones that suggested that I create this forum in order to get in contact with the enforcement team that forced my gamertag
change. all in all when i comes to other ppl my gamertag is mine not theirs and no one elses its nothing to do with them anyways. When creating a gamertag you create it for yourself, not for them if they don't like looking or reading someones gamertag thats
why you get that option to block or just leave a lobby. And giving the fact that name has a history background, the whole ordeal of it is simple, that was then and this is now and if ppl are super blind sided by past events then thats on them either way not
my problem truthfuly i made that gamertag specificly for me and my own view on it. I thats the case no one should be able to create a gamertag if theres always a risk of someone feeling offended.

That can`t be any more wrong.

When creating a tag you create it based on the code of conducts rules, you do not get to choose whatever you want and if people don`t like it, tough!!!

That is not how it works.

Phone support always agree with people on this issue too, and always send them here to a forum where no one can do anything for you.

They do it to clear the phone lines for actual support issues.

 

Well looks like if I had this gamer tag for over your mixing code of conduct with a name. Here's the thing if my actions were disapproved of then yeah maybe or verballyl bashing ppl but I don't think my code of conduct keyword actions had anything to do
with a gamer tag.

 

@THEOWENKILLER So you are suggesting that the "Word for black in spanish" is a racial slur? So how is a person of African-American decent supposed to express which classification of person they are? A Caucasian can say that they are well... infact Caucasian,
but for an African-American not to be able to say I am a (Insert word for black in spanish here... because they even blank it out, LOL?). I restate the question I had before. Does the name SuperCaucasian break the Code of Conduct? Because if SuperNegro does,
then so should that. Also lets ban the words OliveSkinned, Asian, English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, ect. It makes absolutely no sense. IF the ACTUAL word that is considered a racial slur were inserted into his name, then yes for sure I agree with you and
its a totally different story. But the word in question is far from offensive or racial itself... just a word used for describing the character trait of skin tone.

I also never mentioned anything about it being a racial slur, that`s clearly in your mind as to why its offensive.

By your logic i could use " whitepower" as a tag without causing offence??

Surely white is just a colour, and power is just an every day word found on all sorts of things.

Of course i couldn`t, because someone will always be offended.

Whoa, that's deep...to think I might ever have a problem and this guy breaks the news ever so softly to me (also emphasizing that in no way it was intimidating), how ultimately dissatisfied I would be.

 

Alright... so let me ask you this; If it has nothing to do with it being a racial slur, and is somehow still offensive to people for some reason that is unknown... that is a legitimate enough reason to ban the gamertag? How about if enough people report
you for your gamertag being offensive the way it is now, because in our language or any other, the way Super's name was before it was force changed, is just as offensive when translated anyway, as yours is. Infact I think I know a few people named Owen who
might not appreciate and "Owen Killer" lol(being completely sarcastic and I hope you can tell).

The statement about white power is literally irrelevant to what I spoke because it obviously is a racial slur that is well known. As there are other racial slurs that are well known, but the one in Super's name, is not one of them. Should the word be banned
from Schools? Debates? FORUMS(lol)? I repeat the same statement I have twice now... if so, then so should the word Caucasian. Simple as that.

 

Gamertag changes are not a phone support issue, they always send people here.

 

Have you seen the word caucasian in any tags??, i certainly haven`t, maybe it isn`t allowed.

 

There was no statement that said if the y don't like just leave I specificly said if its something that offends someone not my problem and thats why there is the OPTION<----(Keyword) to leave or block a player if reading or looking at and if you chose whitepower
as your gamertag than thats your choice not my problem truthfuly. the fact that ppl singal out one word is whats amazing here if you read the fulll gamer tag you can obviously see what it means now if there are ppl that don't know spanish not my fault that
they don't know.

If you feel my tag is offensive go ahead and report it as many times as you want.

If its found to be offensive it will get a forced change and i will pay for a new one.

At no point will i be here claiming its spanish, or people can just not look if they don`t like it.

To be clear, i didn`t avoid any question, i went to bed, it was 2.30 am here in the UK.

If you genuinely believe the word in his tag is not offensive, go to any public place find any "black" person there and use that word to address them.

See how long it takes for you to get a "negative" response.

Arguing with Owen isn't doing anything to get your gamertag back. He (and I) are just regular users here. I guess the only difference is that we understand how the Spanish word for "black" could be seen as offensive to some people.

I'd just rock that WittyPup gamertag like a boss.

lol... way to contradict yourself. First you say it's all me and in my mind that it is being perceived as a racial slur, then you go ahead and tell me :

...So which one is it then? I am complaining that other people perceive it as racist, not myself. I am the one who is asking that the word be treated as it is in real life, the same as the word Caucasian. Otherwise I once again push that there has to be
a precedent set, and in this sense, every word with anything to do with any skin color or race should be considered an offensive word.... hell lets just outlaw the words for colors in EVERY language except English(Sarcasm)! Better yet, lets even make the word
"BLACK" a frowned upon word too for fun because just picking and choosing wrong from right at random by randoms seems to make a WHOLE LOT of more sense than having a legitimate system and people trained to do a job... apparently (More sarcasm). You can't be
a hypocrite on a matter like this, so pick a side and stick with it is all I am asking.

@Egg - Yeah but was your gamertag a name that was not actually offensive? Also do you find the gamertag SuperNegro offensive? Do you find the word itself at the end of Super's name offensive? The reason he was reported and all of this went down is because
Super is a well known player in a specific community that he has found many people who report him falsely only because he somehow rubbed them the wrong way while having to play his role and do his job as a Clan Leader.

P.S. @OWEN - You still didn't answer the question, just how you felt about the result of it. Do you think it would be a fair forced name change if your gamertag was force changed? That's all I want to know.

Also the name "SuperCaucasian" is actually a real gamertag. A friend tried to take it last night to make a point and post here but it already exists so yeah. Lets go ahead and force a gamertag change on him, and anyone else with a color/skin color/race
in their name.
