  1. My Gamer tag was forced changed.

I finally get on today after the major hack that had happend by lizard squad. Joined an xbox live party with friends and in the mist of us gaming my gamer tag was changed from SuperNegro989 to something different.

Now knowing what had happend is that there are ppl tha reported my gamertag as to be offensive to them in which there are many other players with *** in the name there are even clans that have incorpperated in there clan names. I have had this gamertag for
well over 4 years on xobox live besides recently changing it to ad capitol letters and never had a problem and I played tons of multiplayer games with this specific gamertag. What i am not understanding is that *** is spanish for the color black and yet mine
is changed cause it means black if this is the case than the is many other things in the world that is named *** on products suck as car paint, garbage bags and etc....

Yet the whole purpose of my gamer tag being reported is because of certain gamers of which i have screen shots stating that they were going to make numorus complaints about my gamer tag all because i removed them from my clan for being rude and racist towards
other members yet my gamertag is changed because some ppl out of all these years i've had my gametag decideds to make it as though I am offending them in which I am black and and yes super black at that so i which you would think if anything I should be offending
myself, with an actuall word that is used in multiple ways. i am requesting that i get some type of response back on this situation i built a name on multiplayer games with my gamertag and I myself and others that I play with would like to get my gamertag
    back.

There is an issue that I spent 10$ on this gamertag so im trying to understand whats to happen with my money and if its so offensive it shouldn't have been approved when i made this gamertag 4 years ago and the other thousands of ppl that has *** in there
gamertag should also be forced to change there gamertag.

    :)

I'm going to assume that what is going on is that you were issued a forced gamer tag change since the gamer tag may be deemed offensive. A forced gamer tag change can result in not being able to post on the forums until that gamer tag is changed.

My Gamer tag was forced changed.

They should have other priorities... Im disgusted that they choose to do this now or ever since you've had this gamertag for as long as you have.

This is sort of outrageous and borders on the line of racism from the side of Xbox live and anyone who actually complained against you. This is wrong for multiple reasons:

1.***, as you explained, means "Black" in Spanish and is how your name could have been translated if that is how you chose it to be interpreted yourself. We have to remember that we choose a gamertag and how it is interpreted from our point of view and just
because you perceived a certain way, does not mean that how it is intended to be interpreted.

    2. Admittedly being of African-American decent, his gamertag was simply a representation of himself. By creating an issue with his gamertag is to create an issue with (what I am guessing) the word ***... which is simply a classification of race. So to have
him change his gamertag because of this word, is stating that you have a problem with not only the word, but as a by product, the race...? Would it be offensive, against policy, or morally frowned upon to have the gamertag "SuperCaucasion"/"SuperAsian", or
"SuperCanadian"/"SuperAmerican"... if so would they be banned just as unfairly as SuperNegro was? One way or another a precedent has to be set and followed.

3.The system for gamertag reporting and changing is inconsistent, and silly at best. It is based on a report system that MAJORITY of the time is only used after people get into a multiplayer dispute usually stemming from a separation in skill levels during
the match itself. Also, the word "Offensive" itself could be taken in different ways. ie. "I find your odor offensive", or "I find bugs offensive"... it doesn't always mean you are directly offending someone. If you want to regulate gamertags based on offensiveness
and such... THEN HIRE SOMEONE TO ACTUALLY DO IT... instead of basically having the public do your job for free, but based on no outline or curriculum to work off of. It is simply, "Does this gamertag offend -ME-?"... which is setting up for biased opinions
from the get go. Some people with a literal fear of Spiders (Arachnophobia), may report a name with the word spider, or a breed of spider in it... and is that in any way fair? Because enough people do it, it would end up being considered "offensive" just due
to that fact when there is actually no former benchmark or precedent stating that anything to do with spiders is "Offensive"?

It is up to you guys to regulate something so open to interpretation and targettable by players angry for the wrong reasons.

My Gamer tag was forced changed.

Side note: You guys actually blank out the word that defines an African-American the way "Caucasions" does for North-Americans or "White people"... you actually prefer that they are just known as "Black People" instead of ______(<-- Insert word for Black
    in Spanish here). Ridiculous.

  9. Agree @Diippzzz on the matter at hand (that's if he was indeed being sarcastic). Regardless of whether you're black or not, I can't say that I'd be wholeheartedly in favor of the name. Although this username represents who you (possibly) are,
others might suggest that the word would be encouraged among the younger audience which can never look good. If my username was "ItzVanillaFace" or something as obscure as that, the username may not be removed because well,
it doesn't stand out as a racial slur. However, considering a certain word in your previous username can be used as a racial slur, especially since the word has a history, I can't imagine Microsoft would be in favor.
If you think your betrayed clan members reported you, you should guess again. I'd imagine there may have been complaints long before this. Not disrespect, but I'm surprised you got this far (over 4 years, so to speak).

But I say, "WittyPup8711060" has grown upon me.

@Larcelot - The word in question was never used as a racial slur, it was variations of the word. Just like variations of the word Chinese/China for another particular racial slur. The word in question (Also translated to black in spanish), is but a non-offensive
form of classification of skin tone. I mentioned before it would be the equivalent to saying the word "Caucasian" is a racial slur and should be banned from xbox gamertags, messages and chats.

  12. Then I can't even change my gamertag to anything else unless i pay more money to change it to something different. this is ridicculous not only they forced change my gamertag I'm stuck with this gamertag. Honestly if it was so much of a problem when i created
this gamer tag it shouldn't have been approved when I submitted it.

@Xodud03, I see your point......but to be honest, how many users would look at it from your perspective. I hate to say it, but this seems like a classic case of tough luck. @WittyPup8711060, You'd get away with superblack, but generally speaking with regards
to your initial username, not everyone is going to associate the word as the Spanish meaning for black. Dammit, if only.......if only they made teaching Spanish mandatory in our schools we wouldn't have this problem! In any case, this is just a kick in the
    shins...

  14. Also, I must say that's incredibly harsh you can't change your username to something else. I thought you were allowed to do that if your username was indeed reported. If I were you, I'd appeal.....but then again, I can imagine it may be an embarrassing phonecall
    to Xbox Support.

  15. Your original tag violated the code of conduct, it makes no difference how many people here didn`t find it offensive.

Being "black" yourself does not give you exclusive right to use that tag.

You now have to pay for a new tag due to the amount of people that continued to abuse the system by either using their free change to select the same tag again or an even more offensive one.

Knowing you have to pay $10 each time and risking a permanent ban, usually makes people stick to the rules.
