My gamer tag has been changed without my permission!

Sorry to hear it. Your new tag looks like it has been changed due to an enforcement action. If this is the case then you will need to pay to change it to something else.

Please post in the Suspensions Forums to find out the reason for the change.

Sorry to hear this. Gamertag changes can also happen if it goes against their terms and service on being an appropriate Gamertag. the bottom it also gives your how to contact them personally if still needed help. I wish I could help you more but as far as accounts stuff goes we can only send you links to move you in the right direction.

"GT" - you can't. And it's a failure with Microsoft that you can't do so. Short of starting anew -- new WLID, new GT -- and abandoning your old WLID/old GT and deleting the WLID account associated with it -- will there at least no longer be any publicly
associated link between the old GT and the old billing data.



Microsoft's PROCESS should be updated that if a CCARD is "(Removed)" that it should no longer be useable for account verification / access purposes Again, Microsoft's failure.

Call Microsoft XBOX Live support and file a UA (Unauthorized Access) claim. Provide your old/original gamertag and the dates/times you were aware the account was not in your possession (i.e. when you received the WLID pwd reset notification, if any OR when
you recovered your own account because you had lost access to it).



As for getting your original gamertag back, make that specific request and ensure it is put in writing as part of your UA. In my own experience, the attacker gained access to my account and moved my original gamertag to another account of their choosing
and renamed it in such a way to make it difficult to find. When my fifth (yes fifth) UA finally came back confirming there was unauthorized access, the XBL PET did NOT automatically return my original gamertag. They offered 800 MSP as stated in the recovery
e-mail (which they actually didn't provide) to change my gamertag 'back'. However since my original gamertag was hijacked, in use, and tied to another WLID -- I had no means personally to recover it. I had to file a BBB complaint to engage an Exceptions
Analyst to get it back -- phone support/supervisors were unable to do so.



As far as your WLID is concerned; consider it compromised. Change secret passphrases, review alternative e-mail addresses linked - consider removing both and use Trusted PC or SMS in lieu for account recovery purposes. Considering creating a new WLID altogether
and abandoning/deleting the one you have now; move your gamertag/account to the new WLID. Do this however only AFTER your UA has been filed, completed and returned to you.

Possibly not but do not give anyone your log in details to your Xbox Live account! But im so glad you got your account back! If you provide some evidence of your old gamertag then they might change it back but they need some sort of proof.
