    You only get a free name change within 30 days of starting your account & that;s to change it from a generated tag to a personal one.

    The tag you are posting with is not a generated one so it has already been changed at some point.

    It may say that the free tag change is available for your friend but if they try & change it there will be a charge.

    Like I said,going by your tag you've already had your free change.

    To answer your question-- It depends on when you joined live. For example, now if you join live, you have an auto generated name, which you can change for free, once. If you already picked a name, then, you don't get to change your name for free. Your name
    isn't auto generated, so you have picked it already and therefore do not get a swap free of charge.

    Hey, guys! Hopefully I can come in here and get you the clarification you are looking for!

    The free gamertag change is now for everyone, and the 30 day limit is no longer in effect. The catch is that you have to have an automatically generated gamertag from Xbox Live, and not something you create. If you make an account but set that up to have
    a personalized GT, then that is your free one. If you have Xbox Live choose one for you instead, and want to change it later, then you should be able to get that for free.

    Because this thread is becoming a little argumentative, I'm going to lock it down. If there are any other support questions that need to be answered, please post up a new thread detailing what you're running into and troubleshooting you've completed. This

    Why did my gamer-tag change? It really didn't offend nobody ( BIgBOyLuvMiLPhz )it was a funny gamer-tag to make people laugh and this was my first time actually getting reported. My friends gamer-tag were funny but when they got reported they had to change
    there gamer-tag to something else or they couldn't play live at all and you gave them a (FREE GAMER-TAG CHANGE), how come I cant get that opportunity to change my gamer-tag?
