    My game won't start


    I need help, Microsoft support is a real piece right now. My game won't start, it says I need to sign in as the person who bought it. But I am the person, and I'm signed in. Then it said I don't have it, but I went to the store and it said it was installed.
    I hit play and it didn't start.

    There are a number of possible explanations as to why you're encountering issues with starting the game. The primary factors are corrupted game data and updates for the game not properly installed. For us to determine the root cause of this issue, kindly
    clarify the following details:

    • Are you getting any error messages when you start the game?
    • Have you tried launching other games to check if the same thing occurs?
    • Are you using the physical copy or the digital version of the game?
    • Are you trying to launch the game online or offline?

    In the meantime, we recommend clearing the console's persistent storage. Here are the steps:

    1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select All Settings.
    4. Select Disc & Blu-Ray.
    5. In the Blu-Ray section, select Persistent Storage.
    6. Select Clear persistent storage.
    7. Restart your Xbox One console. Access the game again and check if the same instance occurs.
    Clearing persistent storage on the Xbox One console removes temporary files stored on the system's memory. This can help resolve issues launching game on Xbox One.

    Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Let's have you first power cycle your console if you haven't already. The next step would be to reset your router/modem—you will need
    to unplug the power cable for that, wait 15-20 seconds, then plug it back in.

    Thank you crystal. I have tried but it says that there is a service error when I try to request a call or make contact. I also dialed 1-800 for my Xbox and it just gave me the Xbox help website and hung up on me. I'm not sure how to get in contact with
    anybody but I figured I would let you know that I am having trouble getting a call back.

    All but two but i had the account that boughts them on my xbox amd for some reason it wasnt working. I mean this has been ongoing for almost 2 years. I am sliwly losing my abilty to play my games. It is starting on my xbox as well and i just loat the ability
    to play black ops 2. Idk if that is a whole separate reason or problem with the backwards compatibility but I'm just at a loss after so long of trying

    Hello Madman,

    We understand that there are game titles that you're unable to launch through your account, as you mention receiving an error code.

    What error code are you experiencing? Without this, we would not know the root cause to which further troubleshooting can be provided.

    Our suggestion for now, we recommend trying a power cycle
    of the console.

    If the problem persists, try doing a soft factory reset of the
    console    , Reset and keep games and apps to help reset the operating system. Please note before doing this troubleshooting step, make sure to know your email and passwords for your Xbox profiles.

    Try this out first and let us know the results.
