My game won't launch and I have the disk

It is because of EA Access most likely. I've been talking to Microsoft for 2 days and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game AND my profile 3x and still can't play.

If by TS4 you mean "The Sims 4", make sure the console is detecting the disc properly.

On the home screen, check that below the main game tile, there are your recently played apps and game tiles.

At the end of that row should be the tile for The Sims 4 with a disc icon in the corner (a circle with a dot).

If it isn't, the console isn't detecting the disc properly, which can have multiple causes.

To cover most of them in one go, do the following:

Eject the disc and remove it from the drive. Then hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds.

After the console has completely shut down, turn the console back on, and make sure it shows a green boot screen. If it starts to the home screen immediately, hold the power button again for 10 seconds.

Since the green boot screen takes a few minutes to load, take the disc to the kitchen in the mean time.

Apply a small drop of mild dishwasher soap on the silver side of the disc. Wet your fingers and "massage" the soap around the silver side in a spiraling motion.

When the whole silver side is covered in soap, rinse the disc under running water.

Shake the disc several times to get the water off, and wipe the remaining drops with a soft, lint-free cloth.

If you have someone in the family who wears glasses, the cleaning cloth for the glasses is an ideal cloth for that.

Then take the disc back to the console and insert it.

Check that the "The Sims 4" tile appears.

If it doesn't, check other game discs, BluRay movie discs (the BluRay player tile should show), or movie DVDs or Xbox 360 DVDs.

If only the "The Sims 4" disc doesn't work, contact EA support for a disc replacement.

If all discs don't work after that procedure, your disc drive might be defective, and you need to sign up your console for repair at

I've had the Sims 4 since it launched in 2016. I installed the disk then. When my EA Access expired, I became unable to play it

Its nothing wrong with the disc drive; my other games work. EA Access messed me up. I didn't have this problem until EA Access expired
