    I try not to use the computer in question for much outside of gaming, but when we try to host a session through my PC, it crashes. And I sometimes lag, too.

    My friends expected Malware, but the scan found zero threats.
    I do have more games through Steam than my friends do, but next to none of them are actually downloaded to the drive my games are saved to for this PC. Is it possible for games not installed but in my Steam Library to have this effect I'm discussing?

    I have exact same problem. My 2 friends bought the game on Steam. They can't play with me, their game crashes as soon as they join they convoy with me.

    I have the same problem with my CS:GO. Incredible lag makes the game unplayable and sometimes can't join a game. When my friend hosts a private match it works just fine, but the matchmaking is really laggy. I can play other games online, but just not CS:GO.
