My friend's Xbox profile is stuck on offline mode

I have been trying to play Sea of Thieves with one of my friends. He has been able to play the game through Xbox Game Pass, but when I try to invite him nothing happens. I know that offline mode messes with a lot of things, so I looked at his profile and it said he was offline. I asked him if he could turn it online, and on his end it was already online. He plays on a windows 10 PC, and I have had him restart his computer, sign in and out, reinstall the Xbox launcher from his computer, and none of that has worked. Can anyone give any tips on how to fix this issue?

Something I forgot to originally write was that he can invite me to the game and it works fine, but it only works in that one direction.

Hi there Alondor welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Has he checked his privacy settings?

On his profile navigate to the Settings Hub and select Privacy.

Select Change Settings.

Select Customize.

Select Online status.

Make sure this is set this to Friends Only or Everyone.

Also happening to me, error code when opening friends or my profile. Now i am stuck in offline mode. But anyways i have a question concerning the factory reset, will my destiny data be wiped and ill have to start over or will it save?

Hi, have you tried to update the Microsoft account directly on the Web? Try doing this

The service alert was resolved so just restart your console and keep using the service as normally.

Hi LilPuddyTat,

I'm sorry to hear the issue is persisting. I've actually had this happen to myself before, so whatI would recommend trying toremove
and re-add your account. This helped my account to change from the offline mode back to online.

Side Note: It is very important to make sure you know the primary email/password to the account before removing it from the console.
