My friends recieving free $5 in Xbox live messages?

So my friends told me here recently that they've gotten free $5 through xbox messages and i haven't gotten mine?

The message says "An exclusive event Minecraft BLOCK friday gift just for you!" And they would get a code. Is there anyway i can get this?

I recently seen a offer to get a free £5 xbox gift card on my Xbox 360 home page. So i upgraded to one month gold and i have not recieved my free £5 code.
