    First, please ask your friend to sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders and check if he can see the transaction for the gifted item, if yes, he can simply click "order details" and he will see the 25-digit code that he should give to you.

    If it's not showing from there it means that the transaction isn't successful and your friend may need to reach out to his bank.
