My Friend Passed away, Cannot access account

My friend passed away back in March of 2017, Him had I city world on Minecraft. Him, I and my other friends spent countless hours on there and enjoyed it.... Well he was the host, since he died we can't access it. Since Xbox has privacy rules they will not
allow me to access his save data or even account. I just don't know what else to do... Any suggestions?

Son cannot play downloaded game

Hi there, I bought gta 5 on download for xbox 360 on my sons account and now it's saying that my son doesn't own it. He's linked up to his brother and a friend, his brother cannot play it either. Is it possible that his friend could of passed the rights
to the game to his account as he knows my sons account sign in details? If so could I gain access back as the original purchaser?

Cannot Delete a sent friend request?

My girlfriend sent a friend request on my account and i cannot delete it?....WTH? it wont go away? cannot delete at all....:{

Sorry to hear about your loss. As you noted, because of the privacy rules Microsoft has you won't be able to gain access to the account. You would have to converse with his family to see what they can do about opening up the hosting ability for the game
(assuming they even know anything about it). Otherwise you will have to start over.

It's a reminder to users to make sure their family members know what to do with all their assets (not just the physical one) should something happen to them.

Okay i did something my friend suggested to make a new account and buy the game pass from xbox, i did it and on a new account i can access horizon life and i can play with friends but on my premium edition i cannot access it or play with them. Am i banned?

I have Xbox Gold and Game Pass Ultimate on my designated home console. When my friend signs it to her account on my console. She cannot access my Xbox Live gold or Game Pass Ultimate. How can i share these subscriptions?

technically the Xbox account is the Microsoft account so in other words your Xbox account is actually your mothers, you will need to contact support directly to see what can be done as usually nothing is transferrable. these situations are awkward at best as i have been through this in the past and as with many companies they usually close the account and that's it.

companies like Google and Facebook now have an option to set with what to do with an account upon the owner passing but i don't think Microsoft has that option yet.
