My friend I are both on Xbox one Minecraft 1.11.3 and he can’t join me

My friend and I are both playing on the newest edition of Minecraft on Xbox One and he cant joint me. We’ve tried everything, hard restarts, uninstalling. I can join him but he can’t join me.

are you and your friend in the xbox insider program?

if you are you will need to go into the insider app and opt out/Disable the beta mode on minecraft then reinstall the game

After you made sure both your Minecraft versions are properly updated, and that you actually ALLOWED people to join your world, go to the console's network settings.

Both of you should check the NAT status of your consoles.

If your or both of your NAT statuses are moderate or strict, you need to change your router configuration to set up Port Forwarding to your consoles.
