My friend and I are now appearing offline only to each other

As of today my friend and I cannot connect to each other. We see each other as offline. We have done lots of troubleshooting, including turning off Xbox, Turning off modems, signing out completely on both xboxes. All games play perfectly well. The only
thing is we both see each other is offline abd cannotnplay together. NAT is fine on both xboxes. Played for years together. Stopped worjinw today.

reset, perform a full power cycle, or physically disconnect your Xbox One console to reboot it completely and fix many common issues. This process does not erase any of your games or data.

I was friends with a person and now they are not on my friends list, appear offline to me, and we cannot hear or add each other as friends. We haven't blocked each other either. HELP!

Not that this will be any help but i had the same problem with one of my friends, we added and removed each other numerous times and eventually without doing anything different, it started working after removing and adding each other, no idea why and was
really frustrating.

Also.... try asking your friends to make sure they arent appearing offline (sorry if this sounds obvious) if they arent appearing offline, then ask them to try and set it and then to appear online again a number of times as we did that as well so not sure
if a combination of things sorted my issue.

as others have said, block and report the accounts and set your privacy to friends only, you could also appear offline for a while and still message each other and still play together so they cant see you are online
