Otherwise, an overdue balance can only be paid via credit card/Paypal. He would not be able to add a Live card while he has an overdue balance or use funds from a gift card to pay off the balance.

So they can unrightfully charge people for stuff they didint want or buy without asking first ? Seems illegal. Thanks all 9 of us will be switching to the new ps4

If you do not want to buy a subscription from Microsoft such as Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Live Gold or Microsoft 365 etc. You can just wait 60 days and the subscription will roll off and you will no longer have a past due balance.

If you want to buy another subscription you will need to first pay the past due payment then turn off auto-renewal.
