My Forza Horizon 5 with Gamepass Ultimate is not launching

Greetings off-road fans and racers,

I have a strange ongoing issue with Forza Horizon 5. Some months ago I wanted to play it - did not work, never launched. Crashed to desktop. I gave up because there was nothing I could do and no one in any Forum could help.

Now I have a brandnew Windows 10 installation since a few months on a new SSD and today I again tried Forza Horizon 5 because I urgently want these cool offroad jungle and desert races - and now things got even worse, after trying to reinstall the game and launching it the whole computer shut off with a Blue Screen of Death a few seconds later.

This is the first BSOD I even saw on this computer!

I started Event Viewer to check what happend, and the last bluescreen logs say:

Every other game runs perfectly fine (also Forza Horizon 4, Flight Simulator 2020, regular games like Blair Witch or The Medium, everything runs perfect with the XBox App for years now).

But Forza Horizon 5 just outright refuses to launch on this computer here no matter what hardware configuration.

Last year Ryzen 7 with Radeon 5700 Super Advanced, I sold the graphics card and I am now using a Ryzen 5 2400G with Vega11 until the graphics market stabilizes and I can get a Radeon 6600 Eagle for a normal prize. So it´s not a hardware problem.

So can anyone please help me launch Forza Horizon 5? I really want to play this game because FH4 was already very entertaining.

Windows is 21H2 OS Build 19044.1706 (and I don´t want to upgrade to Windows11 because some very important programs and games are not running on W11)

You'd have to buy the game on top.

Do you mean Forza 5 or Forza Horizon 5?

If you buy gamepass ultimate then that includes xbox live gold & access to 100's of games on gamepass,including Forza Horizon 5 if that's what you meant.

Forza 5 has been delisted now i think anyway.

Forza Support Team have a very good article to troubleshoot issues that may cause Forza Horizon to crash or not run properly. Would you please take a look at it and try the troubleshooting steps mentioned?

I first discovered Forza Horizon 4 through Gamepass when it launched over a year ago. I liked it so much that I bought the Ultimate Edition after playing it through Gamepass first, and now it is basically the only game I have been playing the past year.

No, They are not. I had GamePass PC earlier and everything used to work properly but then one day I got notification that there is an offer on GamePass Ultimate so I upgraded but since the day GamePass PC subscription ended and GamePass Ultimate subscription started, I can only launch games that are on EA Play and that too from EA Desktop App only.

Now, because the GamePass Ultimate was a 3 month subscription, so I can't even go back to GamePass PC until it's over.

Any game that launches from Xbox app for Windows fails to launch and tried repairing and resetting the Xbox and Microsoft Apps, sign-out and then again sign-in on both the apps but still same thing.

For Example, Forza Horizon 4 used to work earlier but now it does not.

So what gamepass has is just the normal Forza horizon four when you clicked on ultimate edition it didn't give it to you gamepass only offers the normal one
