  1. My fix for "Xbox Video Error: Files needed to display video are not installed"

Hi, when setting up Xbox 360 as an extender for Windows Media Center I received the error, " Xbox Video Error: Files needed to display video are not installed"

I asked for help on this error on numerous forums. No one could help me.

My post on this forum is at this link http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_360_support/f/3144/t/1629964.aspx

So I kept troubleshooting the error myself.

Finally I found the fix for my configuration.

I had a VPN program installed on my MCE computer which had set up a network connection. Once I uninstalled this VPN program I know longer recieved the error and everything worked.

I hope this can help other people with this error.

    Regards

    Andrew

  2. xbox . Video Error: Files  needed to  display video are not installed

    Hi, new to this forum.

I apologize if I am posting in the wrong area, but I need help.

Ok I have been a media centre user since 2005, always been able to sort out issues.

But this one has got me. I am New to Xbox 360 for MCE Extender.

I have gone through Xbox setup and MCE setup for extender. I can watch all my PC content on Xbox via Xbox System Video player. I can play music and view photos through Xbox Media Centre. But I cannot watch any live TV or Video Via Xbox Media Centre,

    I get the Error

Video Error: Files needed to display video are not installed

Can some direct me in the right direction to sort this issue out.

    Thank you and regards

    Andrew

Hey there, Robert! This thread is a bit old. If you could, please post up a new thread detailing exactly what you are running into with Media Center, your PC's operating system, and troubleshooting you've already completed. This way we can get you the individual

Error 0xc00d11d1 when trying to play purchased movies

Hello, This might help you out.

How to fix Error 0xc00d11d1 when played a movie download or rented from Xbox Video store

    * It seems to be a bug in the video app. Download the legacy Zune App and install it.

    * It causes by DisplayLink USB 3.0 Video Drivers

Open Control Panel, go to Programs and features and locate the “displaylink core software”. Uninstall it and play the video again. You will get other error message, ignore it and that should work.

If can’t view, restart your computer or tablet, and then change the display to run in HDMI and Green Mode. That will avoid it forcing automatic install of drivers.

    Xbox game bar recording

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello, usually this error code 0xc00d36c4 while playing videos is either due to unsupported video format or codec or corruption in the video file. It could also occur because of computer conflict with USB devices. Troubleshooting the error should begin by installing the supporting codec or converting the video file format to another.

Also try to check that there are no updates to be made they usually come as optional on the system.
